WordPress Websites Using NextGen Gallery

I don’t think I could survive without Alex Rabe’s robust NextGen Gallery plugin for WordPress. This plugin allows for sophisticated management of photos and many options for displaying them on your WordPress blog or website.

Following are some sites on which I’ve used the plugin and taken advantage of the many display options, including:

  • sidebar slideshow
  • random pictures in the sidebar
  • gallery thumbnails that enlarge using various effects (lightbox, etc.)
  • inserting a gallery on a post and a page
  • automatic sizing of thumbnails and resizing of images
  • image meta tags (title and description)

Sample NextGen Gallery sites:

http://www.gotravelghana.com — the header is using the NextGen gallery slideshow (I manually added the slideshow code to the header.php file); each tour destination shows a thumbnail gallery; the sidebar widget shows random thumbnail images

http://www.mrshowerdoorne.com — under Shower Doors and More, the right sidebar shows a NextGen gallery slideshow, and the gallery pages show thumbnails that open up in lightbox

http://www.mountainluxuryhomeforsale.com — the Gallery for the home uses NextGen Gallery thumbnails

http://www.ombase.com — the screenshots are managed using the NextGen Gallery as are the descriptions associated with the screenshots

http://www.uniqueclosetsystems.com — see the Showroom
