Gold Hill Town Website

The folks of Gold Hill wanted a website they could maintain themselves. This was easily accomplished with WordPress and a the Role Scoper plugin to allow each person to have access to just the pages, posts or categories that they needed control of. I found three different themes that had graphic elements that had a western, old wood look and was able to Frankenstein together an unique theme for the site.

Gold Hill has a rich history and celebrates its 150th year this year. This is the first website for the town, and ten people gathered together a few weeks ago in the old Lickskillet cafe (now home of town member Elon Bar-Evan) for a WordPress training using their laptops. Everyone was eager to learn and very good spirited about the technical difficulties we encountered trying to all get onto the wifi network and see the washed out display on the screen projector.

All in all, I think everyone is pleased with the results and can continue to grow the site over time as they get more people trained and see this as resource both for visitors and the community.
