BaoBao Festival Website

I’ve been volunteering with the BaoBao Festival, a West African dance and drumming festival that takes place in Boulder each March, for the past 7 years. I created a flat html website for the festival in 2005 and finally converted it to WordPress last week. Working with the festival earned me an invite for a three-week trip to Ghana last Christmas, where I learned to play four variations of the abstract strategy game, Oware.

Events Manager is a full-featured event management solution for Wordpress. It supports recurring events, venues data, RSVP and maps. Has a sidebar widget and shortcode for an events list, calendars and description, as well as template tags.

I just discovered this great sort post plugin for WordPress that allows you to customize how posts are sorted for each category through a clean admin control panel in the Posts area.

Best WordPress Plugins

Following is a list of my most frequently used plugins. I almost always install the All in One SEO Pack, the TinyMCE Advanced Editor, Google Analytics, Exclude Pages, Category Posts, Search and Replace, and the Backup Database plugins. Let me know your favorites!

I’m only listing plugins that I think are used most frequently, and that I install time and again on various sites. I’ll post other, more specialized plugins in separate posts.
