Most of these sites were created in flat-file HTML. I would love to convert them to WordPress at some point. They work well for portfolio sites but they are not all search engine optimized, and I could do so much more with them now than I could several years ago.
Regardless of the technical aspects, the artwork is beautiful, and I’m delighted to work with these amazingly talented, local artists:

Alison wanted a website that would reflect the cave-like quality of her paintings. Her paintings are created using thick textures of paint in natural tones. I cut out a section of this thick paint bordering one of the images and used this as the border for the website. Gold coins, designed by Alison’s brother and website designer Chris Dearborn, float on the right of the page and serve as the navigation to the various portfolio galleries. My hope was to create the feeling of entering and exploring a cave with many treasures and surprises. |

Laura Marshall is a dear friend and amazing artist. Her paintings are brilliantly colored and archetypal, reflecting the dream-like qualities of the subconscious. The site design is simple to allow her artwork to be the main focus. Her beautifully rendered Green Tara is available in poster format, and I am delighted to find it beautifully framed and hanging in the homes of friends and new acquaintances throughout Boulder. |

Eva Maier is my neighbor and good friend. She started Creations Art Space as a place for adults and children to participate in spontaneous play with paint. Creations offer a lovely space for arts and crafts, paint, and freedom of expression. Soon, we will migrate the site to WordPress, where she can take advantage of a variety of social media plugins to promote her classes and events. |

Wendy Bialek, better known as Wendy the Weaver, creates fine hand woven art for interiors. Her previous site was flat file and scrolled horizontally rather than vertically, so was difficult to view. We converted her to WordPress to take advantage of the CMS and better organize her portfolio. Walking Wendy’s labyrinth located up Sugarloaf Road outside of Boulder is a wonderfully settling experience. |

Working with Jenni Tierney’s illustrations made creating this website a true delight. If you know a child for whom you’d like to purchase a special gift, I highly recommend this beautifully illustrated story of a cute otter who finds the true meaning of home. |
